Unfortunately, I see bankruptcy in my future. Has anyone attempted one of the online companies that offer to do banktuptcy for only about 300?

save your money. All they do is fill out your forms- you still have to do all the legwork and give them the info to fill out - and they have no liability if something is wrong plus they can't give you legal advice.Jessica

Online bankruptcy services are NOT attorneys. They simply fill out the forms based on the information you provide. It is up to you to understand what the forms mean and you are on your own.
As already mentioned, don't waste the money. Go consult with some BK attorneys to get a sense of what your case is like. Then you can make a more informed decision about what sort of risk you are willing to accept in your case. Basically, the cheaper the cost, the higher the risk.Comment
