After filing how do I stop garnishment

I am being garnished for a cc debt, after filing bk how do I get employer to stop garnishment?

You send a letter (fax, email and regular mail) to the creditor's attorney with a copy of the Petition, including case number and date of filing and request that the attny immediately quash the pending garnishment. Make sure you supply the contact info to your payroll department including a fax or email. At the same time you notify your payroll department that you have filed bk, supply it with the same information and instruct the department to cease the garnishment.

Not sure if this is going to happen to you, but in my case, the agency that was garnishing my wages took a cut out of the first paycheck after filing - but I was successful in contacting the creditor and having that amount refunded to me (they cut me a check). YMMV.
