Just seeing CR...a CA reporting for $36 I filed 1/3/2011...

I'd been waiting for paralegal to send report which he still hasnt done. So I decided to pull free annual report. A collection account is on there from the gas company when we moved 2 yrs ago. I thought we paid it all up and closed out account. Its only for $36. Does it make sense to file an amendment to inlcude them or should I wait for after discharge to pay the bill hoping they'll remove it from report

I would file an amendment. It will cost $26 for the fee, plus your attorney fees which can be $150-200. It might be "worth" it if you can't get the utility to remove the collection. A call to them might get them motivated and save you the aggravation of paying $150+ to add them tot he petition.

I can't believe someone adds a CR entry for $36 past due!

Why not? It doesn't cost anything to add it to a credit report. Actually, someone probably didn't "add" it. It probably was done by their computer software.

          Yup. Blaming those darned computers........

So many people take it so personal, thinking that someone is doing something to them. The fact remains however, that no one in collections really gives a rats a$$ about any of the debtors, it's just a job.

Collections software does some pretty amazing things in the normal course of daily business.
