AHEM.....NOT AN ATTORNEY, NOT ADVICE, ETC, ETC
Congrats! My case got discharged last month, and I was thrilled. I'm just waiting for it to be closed. Does anyone know how long it takes for a simple no-asset Chapter 7 to be closed after Discharge???
Anyway, congratulations. It's SO hard to do it pro se! But welcome to the Discharge Club!
Filed BK 7 Pro Se: August 2010 341 Meeting: September 2010
November 2010
Closed: January 2011!!!
Case closing is an administrative act and separate from the discharge. It's the discharge that you want. The closing can take anywhere from a split second to months... even for a no asset case. My case closing too 5 months on a no asset case. I will qualify my case closing with the fact that I did have an Adversary Proceeding but I closed that just after the discharge.
Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10) Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10
