We have decided to surrender our car which we originally wanted to retain, and when I researched this I read it needed to be surrendered before the 341 meeting. Is it possible to do this after the 341 meeting and what is the best way to go about it? Any help on this will be much appreciated.

Yes it's possible! First, you should update your Statement of Intentions to read that you'll surrender the vehicle. Check with the clerk of the court, but this may cost you $26 to file.
Then, just notify the lender that you are surrendering the vehicle. They will go through the proper motions by filing a motion for relief from stay, or they'll just wait until your case closes before repossessing the vehicle.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10
