I didn't finish my paralegal degree, and she's been in the field for two years on the job! (probate, wills and estates though)
Well, I was a confirmed Chapter 13, but not a converted Chapter 7. So I've seen both sides of the Bankruptcy for individuals. Yes, one is nuts to file a Chapter 13 on their own. It is a lot of work and most pro se debtors can't get a confirmed plan. I'm lucky that some of the language I used in my Plan is now part of the District's "new" model plan. (One of the attorneys asked me how I came up with the language specific to plan treatment of payments and how they are applied. It's now part of the model plan.) I didn't use the model plan in my case. I used the "format" of another attorneys, but the majority of my plan provisions were based on a lot of research.

Right before I filed Chapter 13, I had gotten every deferment/forbearance that I was eligible for. I only converted to get rid of my Jeep.
Wow. Yes, I have a tiny bit of tax debt, maybe $2,500 now, that I can pay off within a couple of months of discharge. It has been a long road.
    Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10

Tiger, what is going on with yours?

For all that I read here, I frankly have little knowledge of what either you, Tiger, or JB is up against.

I clearly know it's tremendously difficult. And I clearly know both of you are skilled, expertly; beyond what one could hire. [Can I hire you?]

I honestly don't know what you're worried about (or even if you're worried).

I myself am not now worried. I can't imagine counting days. I really do think: what in the worst case scenario can they do? There is no Debtor's Prison. All they can do is further impede us from our aims in life by making us have to be so well-versed in their legalese, and learning their forms,... and getting money orders etc., and traveling downtown.

But, again, I really did think of just wanting a lawyer to sign off, for signature purposes only, so those major banks don't decide to try to prey upon the perceived weak. Which only means I have to work all the harder.

Anyway, I am concerned I might get an objection from a creditor; and I'd like to have some sense of feel of how to deal with it. [that's for another day]

Just current thoughts. Thanks guys. gf

Oh... nothing at the moment. I'm just making my plan payments, and letting my creditors snooze for a minute while I polish the baseball bat I'm gonna clobber them with. I have been cooking up some claims objections.

I've got probably about 6 weeks until the deadline to get those filed. (June 4th + 21 days from whenever the Trustee files his TRCC, and he has 45 days from June 4th to do that...)

Life keeps happening and slowing me down on that endeavor, but I'm getting there. It turned out to be a good thing that I have been taking my time preparing the objections because I found a couple of mistakes in reviewing them for about the 5th time.

I'll try to liven the party up here once I get those filed - my goal is by the end of this month. I don't want to delay too terribly long getting them in.
