Help with Homestead Declaration please.

I live in Virginia and must file a homestead declaration prior to filing bankruptcy. After searching the forums and google I can not figure out how to go about doing this. All my searches turn up websites that charge $15 for the forms. I went to my county's website looking for the form but can not find it anywhere. Thanks for any help provided.

How much time have you wasted trying to figure this out...was all that time worth $15. (just some perspective).

Next step, CALL the county recorders office and see if they have a form.

Homestead exemption forms are usually available from the tax assessor in your county. If not, the tax assessor can provide you with the proper location. That took me 5 minutes of time to find out. That'll be $15.00. Thank you and have a nice day.

Thanks to both of you. I dont mind paying the $15 for the form, I would just rather get it form the court so that I know it is the proper form to use in my county.
