    I Filed Today

I printed out at my Blankrupter forms, drove down to the courthouse and filed Chapter 7 today. The clerk said that my forms looked great and that I was organized.

She was glad that I didn't staple everything (used paperclips) because she was going to have to take it all apart to scan it anyway.

I found that you can make installment payments of your fee. Up to four separate payments (of at least 25% each) or fewer if you want.

If you've followed any of my questions on the forum, you'll know that I'm self employed. I included, with my filing, a QuickBooks printout of my Profit and Loss statement for the past 6 months AND one for the past year. If they want further back than that, I'll provide it.

Now I'm waiting to see what else the Trustee needs. I'll report back.
Filed Chapter 7 pro se: 1/27/10
    341 scheduled for: 2/25/10
    Last day for objections: 4/26/10
    Discharged! - 5/3/10

    Great!

Are you together yet with latest year's taxes and pay advices (or however you pay yourself!) with redactions, any statements of intent, that kind of thing? I guess it depends on district. Sounds like you're pretty much together, anyway. Good luck, and congratulations on getting the train moving.

Our clerk's office scan everything as well, I guess to put it up on PACER and whatnot.

Yep - I haven't filed yet for 2010 but I've done them and I'll actually owe since I have a small amount of self employment income. I have the past two year's filings sitting in a folder next to me. When I decided to file Pro Se, I had to ask myself, have I done anything at all that I wouldn't want to share with the Trustee, do I have any missing records, etc. and the answer was "no". Other than qualifying my income, it's a pretty straightforward no asset case.

Thanks for the congrats - I still have very mixed feelings about this. Like so many people, I never, ever thought I would get to this point in my financial life.

Hey, hedgecat, I have Blumberg Blankrupter (Single-use) too, but didn't use it for filing.

Could you start a new thread under this Pro Se section of the Forum and tell us about how Blumberg Blankrupter worked for you and how Blankrupter Single-use works in general (pay per use / filing).

        Also, congratulations!

            Blumberg Blankrupter Review

I put the review in a separate thread. JB - thanks for the suggestion.

Just an update. I was denied the ability to make payments for my fee. This surprised me but I got a letter stating that the clerk had made a mistake. They set up a hearing for later this month about it but I had just enough in my bank account to pay the remaining $199 and so I did it. This will nullify the hearing.

Despite checking and crosschecking, I was missing a signature page for my schedules and summary and one local form - which wasn't on the court's checklist of required forms.

No biggie - I got them all in. My 341 is February 25th. So far, no objections to anything I've turned in.

I was missing a local form too that wasn't on the local checklist. That's why it pays, sometimes, to file in person... which I did. Sorry to hear about the installments and clerk issues!
