    Ok. PACER question.

I filed my Plan and Motion to Value Collateral. I know that it was delivered at the courthouse around noon today by FedEx and signed for. I called the clerk and she had it in her hand. She reviewed my mailing matrix and said it all looked good and congratulated me. I am under my deadline and on time. So why isn't it in PACER?

First, when the document is received, it is "File Stamped" with the date and time it was received at the Courthouse. Then, it goes to the "imaging" team. The imaging team scan the document and then the "workflow" process sends it to the Case Manager assigned to that Case. Once the Case Manager reviews and approves it... BINGO it shows up in PACER.

Now, if your attorney did it, the document would immediately show in PACER because they are using CM/ECF (which is really PACER, but is the actual Case Management part of the system that the Court and Attorneys interact with).

Generally speaking, you should see your paper delivered papers on PACER within one business day. If your case manager is out of the office, it may take longer, but usually they have someone cover them when they are on vacation or at a conference. (Yes, it happened to me often, but I now understand the system!)

Thanks justbroke. You are so helpful, I really appreciate you.

I really count heavily on that information from PACER to keep me up to date on changes in my case. I check it at least three times a day.

I do know for a fact that the lady who "received" my filing was out of the office today. The lady at the clerk's office that I spoke to on the phone had to go get it off her desk.

I also know that when the BK court closed early on the day of my filing for bad weather that everything was dated the date it was received even though they didn't actually record it until the following Monday. So they seem to be very fair about it.

Ok I am going to try not to panic and try to enjoy the weekend. I know that I have everything in and done that needs to be in and done for now. The only thing I have to worry about for the moment is figuring out the ex's correct address, but I don't have to do that tonight.

My 341 meeting is scheduled for January 6th so I will try not to panic again until after Christmas.
