I had a friend serve my statement of intention to reaffirm my car loan to my credit union as well as the trustee's office. Do I need to file the original signed proof of service with the court, or do I just keep this for my records?

I don't even understand why you had service in person. You should have been able to serve that by first-class US Mail. Anyhow, yes, file the certificate of service with the clerk of the Court so that it's on the docket.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10

I did have her serve it by US Mail, the Nolo book told me I couldn't mail it myself, so I had my friend "serve" it by mail. I had her fill out a Proof of Service for me also. The NOLO book didn't mention whether I had to file the POS with the court or not though.
I will file it with the court, THANKS!
