Just filed our Chpt 13 pro-se...

    ... here in Chicago.

I thought it was very painless, and I must commend the BK office here. They seem to truly cater to the pro-se filer.

They have several computer terminals, complete with printers, for people to complete all their paperwork in the office. In the mornings there is free legal assistance... just go to the office next door, get your help, and go back to print.

We walked out with our 341 date, confirmation date, and trustee website.

Got home, logged on his website, and everything I could ever ask for regarding what he requires and what he looks for on my docs was spelled out clearly.

So far, so good... we'll see on 8/18...
7/24/2009: Filed Chapter 13, Pro-Se (Plan of 0.2% repayment on $157,500 unsecured debt)
    8/18/2009: 341 Meeting of Creditors
    9/28/2009: Confirmation Hearing #1 (Denied)
    10/26/2009: Confirmation Hearing #2

Good luck. Hopefully you are not leaving money on the table by going it alone (that is what usually happens, but this site, among others, should be helpful).

I'd like to think I'm not... my plan will pay off my 2 car loans over the next 5 years, and leave 0.5% to pay towards my unsecureds. (Off the top I believe the unsecureds will get $848 total over the next 5 years to go towards about $159,500 in unsecured debt. Like the sticky says, as long as it's all of your disposable income, the % doesn't matter.

Our cars are 910 cars, but the interest was brought way down to 5.25%.
      The trustee only charges 7%.

The plan is what it is...

        Not too shabby.
        Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10
