    Tax refund

I am filling out the questionnaire for my BK paralegal, and one of the questions asks about my tax refund for the year 2008 (filed/received in 2009). The precise wording is: If you have already received or are expecting a tax refund for tax year 2008, indicate amount.

Is there a reason for this? Will the trustee try to take this money? It's long gone at this point. This question is listed under the Schedule B section (personal property) if this is of any help.

I already filled out the part about my Anticipated Tax Refund for the year 2009 (will be filed/received in 2010), and I can exempt the entire amount thank goodness! I might have about $1000 left in wildcard exemptions to go toward the 2008 tax refund if needed but not the entire amount.

You don't have a real problem. Just state the truth. You used it for food and expenses long past due. Over and done. 'Hub
