I haven't had any problems getting credit where I want it... I also got my BK removed from my Equifax report which is nice cause I was able to get in with USAA (who is an EQ puller) and most of the credit unions I use are EQ only.
My credit is 10x's better after BK than it was before. It took a BK for me to learn how to use credit and not let it use me...
You have Navy Federal don't you Logan? I can't remember if that was you or not...but we have GEICO through Navy Federal and nobody can touch the rates I get with them. I'm paying 477 bucks every 6 months for my hubby and myself with a 2013 Ford Edge and a 2007 Mercedes on our policy. I can't beat that with a stick...and I'm in VA, so they use credit to pull here. If you do have Navy Federal, I really do recommend using their GEICO insurance discount.
I BK'd USAA so there is no way back until it drops off. I'm happy with my insurance now and I was laughing after USAA said I couldn't get insurance through them especially since I have a good driving history and I now have money. Back when I was struggling they gave me Auto Insurance and constant approvals for car loans and credit cards. Just kind of funny.

Yea that stinks.... but I wasn't talking about USAA, I asked if you were a member of Navy Federal. We get our GEICO through them.

I'm not a member of Navy Federal. I went with esurance with a discount through my credit union. My wife had an accident last year so we're being punished for that. We're under contract for a home i'll be re-shopping my insurance options.

One thing good about California is they can't use your credit score for auto insurance or employment (some excepts for employment) What the heck does your credit score have to do with your driving record? Just an excuse. I know plenty of drivers with great credit and a lousy driving record.
i asked that exact question and was told this: people with bad credit scores have a tendency to commit fraud more than those with good credit.
i told the woman? really, this entire country is in a credit mess, many have lost their jobs and have maintained excellent credit up until the time they lost their jobs...doesn't our 40 plus years of being perfect count for anything? no she replied. then she said we have a few companies that don't check your credit, i said lets start me them please....terrible really.
on the navy federal i looked into that even tho one of use was in the navy they said we had to be active? it said right on their site as well??? yet, i see all these people on the site, i guess if they have an active relative it's ok.
Someone moved this thread. While it's been mostly about insurance I started it to discuss how many of us are now in a much better financial position yet the same banks that would give us 25K credit limits and large car loans when we were upside down and broke won't touch us now. USAA won't insure me because I BK'd them with a car loan and a CC.
