You still have time to research your options. I would designate a coffee-can for an emergency fund, and put whatever cash you can into it. When the time comes, maybe you'll have enough to pay a lawyer. Use this time to get your paperwork together, if you need it, you'll be ready to go. Make a few free-consult appointments with attorneys. Ask questions, find out about payment plans, filing fee waiver, etc. I think if you do that, it might ease your mind a little. If you do get sued, you should be able to choose an attorney and file quickly.
And keep reading here and asking questions. Lots of good folks to help you through it.
