Can I buy and register a used car before my discharge has been completed. I just had my 341 meeting and I need to know if I can buy a cheap used car and not have it taken away from me. My parents are willing to give me the money to get me going.

We were able to purchase a used truck after 341 and there has not been any problems. I checked with our attorney first to make sure it was OK. So please check with your attorney because our state may be different than yours.

If your parents are giving you a gift, that is not incurring more credit. Keep the car near or under your State's exemption if you can. It should not be a problem.
