they contacted everyone with our last name in the phone book, we knew this because some were family. when researching the actual laws on this, unfortunately we found that they can indeed contact others in attempt to local you, however, cannot continue if once they are told you know nothing or their whereabouts.
true is, one still owes the debt until it's discharged in the bk. so there are laws that work both ways, for the creditors as well as the debtors. we ended up dodging all calls for the next 2 years by our moving and leaving no infor, nor getting another phone etc.
