    Spitting nails and then some........................

thought we would be all set to file Aug 1st now lawyer is saying we are over by 90.00 a month reminder her that she told us last month we were only 29.00 a month and was waiting for hubby's ot to drop off, not the case now very vague what the issues were and why. I asked her about the means test as all along she said not to worry as we were only 1500.00 over median income for our state and now she says it won't work. We have a appointment with her next Tuesday. She did offer to refund our money and we could go somewhere else or not file and work with cc companies. Haven't paid on them since Feb. I ask about doing a 13 and again no real answers.
I asked about going out to get a car and getting a car payment but who knows who will loan us money with our credit they way it is know. She could not tell me if this would be a good idea or not.

I knew this would happen nothing comes easy for us even trying to file bankruptcy. I feel like we were are being punished for making bad choices and health issues.

    So sorry for the rant.

    Pam

{{{HUGGSS!}}} I am so sorry this is working out this way. At least your attorney offered you your money back. Perhaps an admission on her part that she doesn't know what to do to help you? Did you talk to any other attorneys before hiring this one?

Yes we did and she seemed on top of her game and was the only one who really talked to us and explained everything. We saw 4 lawyers and it was her or another lawyer after Tuesday might try other lawyer and see what he says. Pam

Rant away, Pam. Don't blame you. At least you can go to the appt., find out what her issues are, and take her up on the refund offer if she can't (or doesn't want to bother) help you. My confidence in anything she had to say, would be totally shaken by this, but that's me. Go with your gut.

If she offered a refund, take it. That's not a good sign, but the reasons could be due to her own preferences. You could consult a few others.

Oh, I just saw now that you did consult others, still it sounds like she does not want to do it.

It is shaken as I want to go on with our Fresh start and not be in limbo anymore.

I can't believe she's making you wait a whole week to explain things to you.

She may be trying to do some research on Pam's situation. Also she has other clients...

I can't either said she was all booked up. Was going to make appointment with back up lawyer only thing she still has all our pay stubs and current cc bills gave them all to here when she was suppose to file in July and it didn't happen. I will ask her flat out when we see her Tuesday if there is a issue why she doesn't want to do this and if so why. She has wasted my time as well as hers. Pam

You are probably right; and so good to put a positive spin on it.
