Is it crazy to receive NEW credit offers?

    Hi,

Just wanted to say how crazy is it that since we filed 6/27, we have started to receive car financing offers & credit card offers. I realize they know we cannot file for 8 years - but still how crazy is this??? I didn't expect any (not that we want any) until we were discharged.

    Just wanted to comment.

    Thanks!

    We got them, too, bears.

Credit card offers were from Credit One and First Premier during the BK. HUGE annual fees and MONTHLY membership fees and interest was almost 35%, IIRC.

Most of the car offers we received before discharge were for the 722 Redemption financing.

Yeah, and I almost find these more annoying than the phone calls from creditors before I filed. Almost.

I know! We had been in a credit counseling debt repayment program, and never received any offers. Thought we were doing the right thing, but didn't realize how bad our credit took a "hit" either. Never rec'd any offers for credit cards, once in a while for cars. Crazy. I am not interested in any, but just doesn't make sense. lol

My chapter 13 was filed October 2010, and though there still isn't nearly as many, now about one per month, I'm still getting offers. This is an item of public record and these people must also know that I'm not supposed to take on any new credit until after my discharge. It seems they're just waiting around for me to make a mistake.
