Yes, pamkev I think we are feeling sorry for the situation that we got ourselves into & after this is over it will never happen again. Thanks again. sammie

Aw Sammi all of us are here for one reason or another and we all tried to do what we thought was best as we always have been taught. One thing that has been said on this board and one I always keep in my mind is that try to take the emotions out of it hard to do but treat it like a business and your getting your business in order. Near the end we were using cc to just live heat our home food on the table etc now it's cash only don't have it don't need it is my motto now. Pam

Pam you just made me realize that we have to treat this situation not as a loss, but something that has to be repaired. We are leading with our emotions right now & your statement is showing me to go head on and to deal with a different mindsight.

I think it is the thought of the unknown that has us both an emotional mess. Neither one of us is acceptance of change very easily. Thank you for putting this in a different perspective.

When I had to put food on a cc last month for the first time it became the deciding factor for us to file. Thank you. sammie

        Hi Sammie,
Our stories are different, but I do empathize with the emotional issues. I've cashed in my change jar more times recently than I care to admit. I only made the firm decision to file about two weeks ago when I received 3 letters from lawyers in 1 day. I think just making the decision is hurdle number one. The future may be unknown, but we have to believe it can only get better from here on out.

Pjmax Your post touched my heart. Born & raised in NJ (all the kids are still there) & I know how hard it is around the Country, but very difficult in NJ. We could not afford to ever go back there to live. I don't know what NJ B. Laws are, but from the day we file we will see the Trustee within a month. We, also, just decided to file 2 wks. ago, met with the Attorney last week & will filing Ch. 13 early next week after getting all our papers in order.

I am taking Pam's advice and the other posters here from now on, if you don't have the cash or don't need it. The banks are the ones that have made a fortune and we are the people paying for it.

It will get better for all of us. Hang in there. sammie

Please thank the posters on this board as they have the one's that have been so supporter and if you ever feel down I stared this thread when I was depressed and I go to it every time I get down and thinking did I do the right thing. I think in the near future we will see more BK as I read a report today the May 2012 was a record setting charges people made on there cc. Most experts believe is because people can't afford the basics anymore due to no jobs, low paying jobs hours being cut etc.....which is sad.

As PK has said. I wish to thank all of you on this forum for helping me this week on how to handle this situation realistically. This week was the beginning of our journey & I hope that I will be able to help others in the future, as you all have done for me.

Today is my birthday & we are starting with a new approach to everything, instead of a dinner out somewhere on vacation (that we could not afford, but figured we could), it will be a quiet dinner for 2 at home--priceless!Thank you!sammie

Happy Birthday, Sammie! May this year bring you much joy and some extra good night's sleep knowing you're doing what's right for you and your family. Just think how much more you will appreciate that 'future vacation' when this is behind you.
Hope you at least take a few dollars and splurge on a bottle of wine or your beverage of choice, I think you've earned it.

Wow, what a nice, thoughtful group I have been accepted into! Thank you so much for all your good wishes, with all of your guidance I feel very positive for our future. I love to cook & that is what I do (especially when I feel stressed)--guess you know what I have been doing all week! So, tonight I made my dear husband shrimp Alfredo (sauce made from scratch) with broccoli, red peppers, onions & garlic. I had broiled Flounder and some of his shrimp (2). Of course, the spoiled dog had to have 1 of my shrimp. The one thing I don't have to be concerned about with filing for BK is cooking healthy food without breaking the bank.

It was really a perfect night and what really mattered was the fact we were together, we are healthy, & the food was great, & today marked the day of a new beginning.

Have a wonderful night & thank you again.sammie

AngelinaCat I am still navigating the sites and getting lost and can't find the proper forum that you wrote to me last night telling me you deleted something, thank you.
