Very good luck to you today! It never hurts to get another opinion and expand your options! We talked to several attorneys and I was personally comfortable with a couple of them who were compassionate, patient and friendly. However, it wasn't until we consulted with the very last one that we realized how unique our particular case was and how little most attorneys knew about being able to help us. If we had gone with either of the one's I originally liked [was comfortable with], we would have lost our rental property, one of our two cars, and been in this for five years instead of three! HUGE difference! Don't be afraid of any questions. Most of the time, federal bankruptcy law provides you with a broader spectrum of benefits. Occasionally though (as in our situation), filing under state statutes is better. Be sure you and your attorney explore the impact of filing one way verses the other. Keep us posted!

    Best wishes.... ;)

Thanks for your advice. I think we are going with this lawyer although we will see the other just in case. She really took her time with us and this was a second consult and no charge for it. She answered all our questions and went though things. She see know problem with us filing a chapter 7 and protecting everything. Her partner in the lawyer firm is a trustee and she told us about the other trustees and what they look for and what is there triggers to probe deeper and we have none of those. I'm thinking we will file mid Aug just because of income although she thinks we will be fine now. I will feel better if we wait till than. Will keep you all posted when we file. Pam

See Sometimes, filing bankruptcy is the only option left for people who have lost jobs or have gotten sick and cannot pay bills. Finding a specialized lawyer to help you with bankruptcy is very important.
