Google Voice question-how do I send calls straight to VM with no ring?

So Citibank started started calling yesterday on my GV number which I had updated about a month and a half ago. I put their number into GV and in call settings I unchecked the box to ring my mobile number so that when I get out of call settings it says rings to: none. I also went into the group and set the drop down menu so that it reads: when this contact calls send to voicemail. Just now Citibank called on the same number and it still rang through to my phone. What am I doing wrong? If I do have the settings right it means they must have dug back in the file and pulled out my old number-I have no way of knowing because up until now I had the actual numbers showing up on my phone instead of the GV number. I've since changed that so we'll see. I was thinking of looking for another cell carrier anyway since the one I have is pretty expensive, so maybe I'll just get a new number and attach the same GV number to it if things get really bad.

If you're not using Google Voice as your primary phone number, there is an option called Do Not Disturb that will send all calls to voice mail. It's under the Settings area (click on the little icon that looks like a gear/cog wheel). It will be under the Calls heading.

Thanks-I got it-now I'll know for sure who is calling on what number.

Access your Google Voice account and it will tell you if they actually called your G V number. It will tell you the exact date and time of their call, if they called your G V number.

Then just click on that phone number and select the appropriate options from the menu, such as sending their calls directly to voicemail, etc.

If they called your actual cell phone number, and not the G V number, there's nothing G V can do about that.
        The world's simplest C & D Letter:
"I demand that you cease and desist from any communication with me."
Notice that I never actually mention or acknowledge the debt in my letter.

Thanks for asking this question! I wondered too how to have it not ring my landline.

We have ALL calls forwarded to GV.
Anyone we know calls our cells.
