    2nd bankrupsty?

My husband needs to file for his 2nd time. It's been over 8 years. Can someone lead me to a thread that has discussed this. I am doing fine after my BK and rebuilding my credit, thanks to this forum for a lot of good advice. I noticed when I went before the trustee in my case that others at the hearing were filing for a second time. I guess what I really want to know is if this going to affect me. His cards are in his name. We live in Missouri.

Shouldn't affect you so long as there is no joint debt and you don't file bankruptcy.

There is nothing particularly special about a 2nd Bk, so long as you have waited the appropriate cooling off period, no one really cares.

    Cooling off periods are
    7 to 7, eight years
    7 to 13, four years
    13 to 7, six years
    13 to 13, 2 years

The time is calculated from filing date to filing date.
