    Veterans question

I was discharged from the military with a 10% disability. I'm not understanding the first part of the means test for vets. Is there a differance between "line of duty" and being on "active duty"? I was on duty at the time of my illness. Was active during Gulf war but not there. On duty here in the US at the time.

    disabled (as defined in 38 U.S.C. ยง3741(1)"

The term "disabled veteran" means (A) a veteran who is entitled to compensation under laws administered by the Secretary for a disability rated at 30 percent or more, or (B) a veteran whose discharge or release from active duty was for a disability incurred or or aggravated in line of duty
key word hereis or, I'm only 10%

If I qualify for this do I automatically get ch 7

    From http://www.justice.gov/ust/eo/bapcpa...ne_by_line.pdf

If you meet both of those conditions you are only exempt from completing the rest of the Means Test. You will still have to worry about DMI on Schedules I and J.

    Good luck!
