Don't change your withholdings. Trustees look for these types of things. In fact, don't do anything that you mentioned above in the other posts until you have talked with the attorney face to face.

I'm not an attorney. My replies are merely suggestions or observations, not legal advice. As always, consult with an attorney before making any decisions.

These are all suggestions or topics raised BY the different attorneys during face-to-face consults. One of the reasons we selected a specific one, was because that person seemed the most "trustworthy". However, I want to explore ALL options available.

It seems the answer to all of the questions listed is: don't do it

Replace original carpet, replace stove, fix loose tiles in showers, drywall repair in various areas (due to shower tile leak)

What is the amount owed on your CA rental property?

Amount owed on your current home?

The CC debt, any of it used for the rental or other business (your band for example), if so, how much?

Is your leased vehicle used in your rental or other business, percentage?

Often a person qualifies for a non-consumer chapter 7 but does not realize it. I even had attorneys try to fit me into the consumer chapter 7 mold because they typically don’t deal with non-consumers and don’t really think about it.

To qualify for non-consumer your business debt has to be more than 50% of your total debt. What is nice about being in a non-consumer chapter 7 is that the means test does not apply nor does excess income (to a limit) after filing.

If you are going to keep your house, those repairs make sense and shouldn't be a problem. This might not be a good time to build a second story or add a home spa.

If you have chosen an attorney you trust, then run all of these questions past that attorney. None of us here have a full picture of your situation. In addition to knowing all of the facts of your case, your attorney knows the local trustees and how they are likely to react to different BK planning strategies.
