I intend to file CH7 in the next few weeks. I got the ok from my attorney to sell a truck prior to filing as long as I claim the remaining cash on hand when I file. There are a few things that I will be spending some of the cash on prior to filing & I'm just wondering if these items will raise any flags or if they'll be considered "necessary". Here's the breakdown:
Sold truck for $6,000
$1,000 - BK Attorney (at time of filing)
$750 - Divorce Attorney Retainer
$1,200 (approx) - Auto Maintenance, New Brakes, New Tires
$250 - House Appraisal
$400 - Clothing for kids
$400 - Groceries
That'll leave $2,000 which I will claim under the exemptions with the hope that the appraisal comes back lower than what Zillow says (I was a real estate agent & I believe Zillow has my house valued higher than it should be).
Thoughts? Thank you!
