Senior Housing for Vet in Il, sec 8?

Will a 72 year old vet get thrown out in the street?
Post BK, living in home worth about what he owes but cant make payments. We can make up shortfall for a while if needed, but don't want to throw money away.
If this is post BK and loan mod, will foreclosure be much faster?
What are the programs available in addition to Sec 8 IHDA housing.

joe, so sorry to hear all this. my heart goes out to you and yours.

the first thing i would do is get in touch with an bk atty for a free consult or two or there. i would also reach out immediately to your local community vet administration for some help with this situation. they even have vet specialist at the unemployment offices, so i'm certain your county or town should be able to give you some direction as to what help is available in your area.
