I am converting from Ch.13 to Ch.7, letting house go....

I live in Minnesota and will be converting to a chapter 7 and letting the house go. Does anybody have a ballpark of when / how fast will we have to be out of our house? Just wondering as I will be having a meeting with my lawyer in a few days.....

It really depends on the trustee appointed in your case. Keep in mind you will get a new trustee for a chapter 7 case, so your 13 trustee may not be the correct contact. Some start the sale process on a house as soon as they get it, others will leave it until the very end if there are other assets they can administer first. Most trustees are willing to work with you if you call their offices and ask to set up an agreement for moving. Good luck.

I know a friend of mine who had to do the same after a divorce, and the trustee on her case allowed her 120 days to move from time they were told she was moving.
      Ch 7 filed 8/15/11 341 9/22/11 Discharge 11/28/11
      The rebuilding begins
