Loose ends not properly tied up before filing - do/did you have any?

Since I didn't plan for bankruptcy, I filed because of timing. My wifes pay stops for the next two months and I saw no way to survive the summer.

That being said, a few things cropped up that I never thought of.

A couple of credit cards (only one with a balance, but a large one of $20k) were co-signed with my wife. I thought all my cc's were in my name and she was only an authorized user. Shame on me for not protecting her credit. That card will be paid 100% ion the plan and the others will get less.

My car was co-signed with my wife, a fact I forgot. That was originally not going to be in the plan but now it is and the remaining balance will be paid over the 5 year plan.

I had no recollection of putting my children on a credit card, but apparantly when I signed up for Capital One eons ago (the card hat was co-signed by my wife) my kids were added as authorized users and cards were issued. They never used them, but my son checked his credit yesterday and that card is on his credit report and hurting his score. Obviously I should have removed them from the account prior to filing, but I never thought of looking into it.

Based on the above I should have had both my kids look into their credit reports prior to me filing to see what was there.

I am sorry to hear that. I did not have any loose ends as it is just me. I hope once your bk is done, your kids scores will rebound.

If your son was only an authorized user on that card, he should dispute the negative entry on his credit report.

My son was an authorized user on 2 of our cards that we had forgotten about. When our BK showed up on his credit report, he disputed as "not his, authorized user only" and it was removed in just a couple of days.
