    What's With the Auto Offers?????

Discharged 6/17. In the last two days have received 3 letters stating:
This letter will serve as notification of a unique auto finance opportunity being made to individuals in your area. National Lenders have reserved milliions of dollars for this loan package.

Due to extreme competition in the current lending markets, individuals with less than perfect credit (such as BANKRUPTCY, REPOSSESION. FORECLOSURE or ALL OF THE ABOVE) are encouraged to respond. With record low interest rates and preferred pricing you can save like never before and be driving home today.

This limited opportunity is being made in conjunction with SAME NAME SAME GAME (Each letter was the same - just the names changed).

Please bring the following documents to expediate the process:
    -Valid Driver's License
-Landlord or Mortgage Informaiton (Yeah, like they'd like to see the NOD)
-6 Complete References (Right, I'll list my creditors)
    -Proof of Residency (Phone/Utility Bill)
-Most Recent Paystub (That would be January 2010)
    -Bankruptcy Discharge Paper if applicable
    -Trade in Registration if applicable

WHAT is with these characters???????? Have they driven by my house and noticed my car is 19 years old?

Unbelievable isn't it. It's as though you've just been rescued from a drowning death and these sleezebags are all "Come on back in! The water's just fiiiiiine!"

Any opinion expressed is based on personal experience and/or research. i.e.

Cars are nearly an absolute necessity, unless you live in an urban area with great mass transportation. Affordable used cars are junk - you will spend enormous amounts of money on them and realize that you would have been better off financing a new or late model one.

My 27 year old son got his Chapter 7 discharge in September 2010. He just picked up his brand-new 2011 Subaru Impreza two days ago. I'm just sayin'......

Being uneployed since 10/2008, I am thankful for my junker. Have put some money into it but bought it for 1500 almost 6 years ago and it still runs like a trooper. Looks like crap, but, then again, doubt if anyone would want to steal it.

A guy I went college with works for a large car dealership as their F&I manager. He told me that a person who recently discharged a ch 7 is a better credit risk than someone in a ch 13, someone who has repo, etc
          Ch 7 filed 8/15/11 341 9/22/11 Discharge 11/28/11
          The rebuilding begins

"What I won't accept or buy any longer is that my credit score defines who I am. Screw that."
