So many "little" things helped to finally convince me to file. Last year I while I was still in denial, I decided to see a credit counselor. A friend had gone there, and said that this was one of the few "legitimate" firms of this type. It turned out I was too "far gone." After looking through my ccard statements, bank statements, and pending creditor lawsuits, the counselor handed me the contact info of her favorite attorney.
Don't know if this will help, but sometimes its just a small thing that finally jolts a person out of his/her denial. I think BKattyMI has a good idea. Sometimes it seems that people will listen to a stranger quicker than family.
