Getting ready to file kind of scary. Anyways I've been reading how it's important to find a good attorney to get the beat deal. So my dilemma how to pick a good one. Has anyone here filed in Springfield Illinois before and any reccomendations on a good lawyer or firm

Not familiar with IL attorneys but I called several places, had free consultations with several and Googled all of them for consumer reviews etc. Also looked them up on the BBB and any and every message board I could find.
And welcome to the forum Hazzard!Chapter 7 Filed: 04/21/2011, 341 Meeting: 05/31/2011, Report of No Distrubution: 06/02/2011, Discharged: 08/03/2011, Closed: 08/10/11

Personally, I think choosing an attorney is the scariest part of the whole process. It is overwhelming, and hard to know who to trust. Sorry, I don't have any suggestions other than the ones offered here. There are some "lists of questions to ask attorneys prior to hiring one" available. Just google.....Tried debt settlmnt, stopped paying all cards 5/09/--filed bk no asset ch7 in 11/2010---DISCHARGED 2/2011!!! Still waiting to see how much more Bank of America and Fannie Mae can ruin us
