Reviewing my credit report, I noticed a negative entry with HSBC of NV listed as the creditor. I wasn't quite sure what debt that was, but moved on. There was no balance listed for it. Further down the report, there was a debt listed under Portfolio Recovery, but again no indication of what the debt actually was for. I called them and they said the debt was for a Discover card issued by HSBC of NV, so now things are starting to make sense.
Should the debt be listed twice like that on my CR? It's counting as two negative entries right now. Should I dispute one? Does it even matter, since I'm declaring Ch. 7 in about 6 weeks?
