Haven't filed yet. What can I spend tax refund on?

I found out I'm getting a substantial tax refund. I chose to have it loaded onto a TurboTax GreenDot card (which I hope goes well without any problems.) I plan on filing Ch.7 in about 3 months. I know I have to spend the refund before I file, so I'm looking for some more ideas on what would be ok to spend it on.

    1) I plan on replacing an 18 yr old refrigerator and maybe a washer or dishwasher. Is this ok?
    2) Can I pay a past due utility bill that I'm on a payment arrangement for?
    3) Can I pay one month of my mortgage or student loans?
    4) I also plan on stocking up on some groceries, paper goods, gas, etc.

Are these things ok even if I have exempt social security money in the bank?

    Any input is appreciated!

    Thank You!

I would say Yes to all 4 questions. Keep receipts.
