It has been a year since discharge and closed, my journey

Wow, a year as flown by. On 04/07/2010 I was discharged and 2 days later closed in my chapter 7.
Lessons learned were hard ones, but really brought me down to earth so to speak.
Things are going OK, could always be better. Not having credit to use as a crutch so to speak is still taking some getting used to but I also think twince before spending money now as well, so that is always a good thing. Bargin shopping can be fun, but not always, LOL.
Life does go on, so dont give up hope. You can rebuild and do so wisely with the lessons learned. I do have a CC, a cap one, with a $750 limit. Small annual fee. I use it mainly for gas and pay most of it off each month, yes I carry a small balance, but the payment history I am building will help things.
I really dont feel bad for haveing to have filed, it was a business choice I had to make. BK also does not carry the stigma it once did, alot of people are in the same boat as I was and ask about what I went thru and things associated with my BK. So I figure maybe some good can come of it.
Some good news on my credit report, all 3 only show 5 negitives, and 20 positives, my mortgage while included in BK is reporting my current payment as made on time never late, on a ride thru, THANK YOU FOR THAT. One lender completly vanished from all 3 reports, odd, dont know how common that is. I do have to dispute one lender on 2 of my reports, seems they are reporting me as having to collect on the debt, which they never did, all payments were on time and never late, I have the proof of that, so I will despute that one.
I have not checked my real FICO scores yet, but I am courious as to what they will be.

On a personal note, 2010 sucked, besides the BK, my mom, grandfather and several co workers and friends passed away, way to many funerals last year, thankfully I did not have the money problems I was having so not having to deal with all of that crap really helped alot.

Life goes on, you will survive this, keep your heads up, and walk strongly, yes it can humble you, but you will get through this, learn from it, and be stronger for it.
