Hi,
My husband and I are considering filing BK in May/June. Are the following items considered income? Our tax refund, I am going to graduate school and my employer reimburses for part of the tuition, I am also taking out student loans. Is the refund of the student loans that comes back to me considered income? My husband is a disabled Vet. He is going back to school and receives most of his education paid for, the VA pays for his books, and gives him a housing stipend. Are those items considered income as well???
On the means test, it seems we can put in our secured debt, but not our unsecured debt. If we do not want to keep cars, or houses for example, do we not put those expenses in, or do we count those as expenses, but then have them discharged (in Ch 7)?
I cannot find information on some of the sites about that. An attorney we talked with wanted to include everything, even though they were not considered taxable.
Thanks for any information. Of course, probably like everyone we are wanting to file Ch 7, but would probably have to go 13.
