How do they divide expenses when one spouse files?

We are thinking of having just my husband file ch 7 (hopefully) as he has a house that may be foreclosed on. How is my income counted. And how are our expenses divided? Our primary residence is in my name, both vehicles are in my name which on means test would count as a deduction.

    Any suggestions?

This is a great resource. It explains the Chapter 7 means test entries line by line including when only 1 spouse is filing:

Official website of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). DOJ’s mission is to enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law; to ensure public safety against threats foreign and domestic; to provide federal leadership in preventing and controlling crime; to seek just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior; and to ensure fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans.

    Hope this helps!!

Thank you! My husband is disabled Vet, but believe his debt was after his active duty status...

      Very helpful information.

      Thanks again.
