    Paypal/Amazon Payments account

Do the Trustee's or anyone have access to these accounts. I have a couple hundred dollars between the two...I know i need to dwindle down the Bank account if i am to proceed with a BK - Wondering how the other accounts are classified/checked?

Last thing i want to do is start off on a bad foot with the trustee by them thinking i am a Liar if i say im Broke and they can see some money in those accounts. I realize the simple solution would be to spend but i would like to leave it there for emergency if possible.

    Thanks for the input!

i have and had a paypal account and it never came up and i didn't list it because it had like 2.00 in there. however, had i had more, i would have listed it.

in our state we were only allowed $150 in total cash so if you have more i would remove it asap and spend it on things you need for the house etc.

Spend the accounts down, otherwise you would have to lie about their existence. Not worth the risk of your whole bk. Also, having just read the thread about how tormented you feel for getting the gift card for the printer ink, I don't think you have the stomach for wrongdoing.

Any and all assets in either of these accounts need to be included in your petition. Failing to do so is lying and could lead to the dismissal of the bankruptcy. That is minimum consequence. At you 341 meeting you will be required to confirm, under oath, that all the information contained in the petition is accurate. Not providing accurate information is considered fraud and is a crime.

I gave the trustee six months of PayPal statements, and showed where the payments received were either used for legit purchases (using the debit card) or transferred into my checking account. He seemed satisfied with that. My PayPal account has a lot more activity than most, however, as it's how I usually get paid.

Your Paypal account is a bank account which you should disclose to your attorney when filling out all of your paperwork.

I have to assume that there are filers every day who forget to list small amounts of money for various reasons with no intent to commit fraud. From a Trustee point of view if discovered then I would bet they would either ask for the money with some justification from the filer on why it was not listed or not bother with it.

i agree...really...people tell you all types of scary things...

it's simply NOT so...unless, of course you get a real nasty trustee...and i can assure you they are not after $100....they are looking for a bit more than that...
