My girlfriend is going BK. I am getting all the forms and financial info together.

How do we separate out the expenses?

The lawyer wants all the expenses for 6 months. Then average it out into monthly expenses.

Anyone had to do this?

She is on SS (widow) and has 2 teenagers. She pays for the groceries, etc.

I pay for all the household utilities and rent.

Any suggestions?

I thought if her income was below the Means Test that we did not have to do this?

The means test is only step 1. You still have to fill out schedules I and J to see if there is enough disposable income to fund a Chapter 13.
