Settlement offer letter from Allied Interstate

Can someone, preferably a lawyer, look at a settlement offer from allied interstate for me? I know it's probably best to get someone local but I don't have the time next week. I can pay if necessary. This is for a sallie mae student loan. It was posted under student loans section.

You would be better off with a lawyer licensed to practice in VA. Try the VA Bar Association's Lawyer Referral Service. An initial 1/2 hour consult is $35 and that may be all you need. http://www.vsb.org/site/public/lawyer-referral-service/

Filed Chap 13 April 2010. Discharged May 2015.
$143,000 in debt discharged for $36,500, including attorneys fees. Money well spent!

thanks! I've heard even if I paid the debt collector, sallie mae can still come after me for the remaining balance.

Yep. The key is to make sure Sallie Mae is bound by the settlement agreement.
