CCjoe: I'm so very excited to that you got this position in finance, it does give me hope and hope for my hubby. Since I had to stop paying the un-secured's way before hubby, I am hopeful that his score will bounce back quicker.
You give me so much inspiration, thanks for sharing

I hope the fact that I was able to secure something in finance, plus the insight they shared with me about how they weighted the bk vs. all other events can give some here reasonable hope and optimism.Chapter 7 filed 11/4/10 ---- 341 Meeting 12/1/10 ---- Discharge 1/31/2011.

I have been learning from this site for months now but have only posted a few times. This news is great and while I don't know you at all I am very happy for you, congratulations and way to fight the good fight through difficult times.
This post helps me because like you I am in the financial services industry. I am a licensed Home Loan Originator and have been for the past 13 years. Under the new SAFE Act as part of new requirements a credit report is required to be pulled but guidance as to what that means for renewal is vague at best, worst case you can have your career taken from you even though you have built a practice on good ethical business and can meet all other requirements including background checks, educational hours and testing.
Now is the time that I should say that my credit is bad and I have an active BK under way because in late 2005 I opened my own Company that employed 10 people. I poured my saving into this business and completed many of the tenant improvements for my office myself after work with my family.
The timing could not have been worse because by early 2007 the mortgage industry was in decline and just over a year later I was left alone in my office because the environment made it nessasary to lay off my staff and it was impossible for the Loan Officers that worked with me to survive. I used available credit to survive and then when that ran out sold my rental properties and then foolishly used my 401k to survive.
What I should have done was declared Bankruptcy long before, I risked in good faith and failed but I like many was conditioned that BK was the end all and so it took hitting bottom for me to wise up. Sadly my Dad passed away at the beginning of this year and I learned after his death that he often wondered why I did not file long before, he was so wise. I often feared that he would be upset with me.
OK enough. I want to say sorry for taking this thread up with a portion of my story but I was so uplifted to hear of your new job. I am resolved to fight to the end and believe that if I am called into question my overall history and character will allow me to win the day much like you.
Thanks so much and congrats.+ Filed 12/06/10 + 341 1/11/11 + Discharge set 3/14/11 We can't go back and make a brand new start, We can start now and make a brand new ending" "People who don't have Control of their cash flow make people who do rich."

I am fired up for you, what a good feeling it must have been to get that call. I tell you, my pending BK has actually made me better at my job than I was before. My sense from all the checking is that like in your case I will have success even in the midst of a BK.
I don't know if it is the same for you but I have a new appreciation for my job. Once you come face to face with either not being able to obtain work in your chosen field or losing the ability to work in the field because of financial difficulties, it changes your perspective; at least it did for me.
I will keep an eye out for you on the forum.
Take care and all the best
