...you can lose up to 100 points on what's left of your credit score due to your delinquent library fines...those parking tickets, too! The parking ticket police will be after you and boot your tires...if you don't pay up & ultimately report you to the credit rating people...it's on AOL news this morning...just one more thing to worry about......puhleeze...at the very least, no one will want to use my name & ss# for a new identity...credit score's too low! LOL!

Library fines & credit scores...

Yep, lots of things are showing up on your credit report, including the parking tickets, library fines, and for some non-payment of child support......
You don't pay a creditor its a bad debt..... now if you don't pay your child support, it too is a bad debt.......
Laws are getting tougher for sure................
Insurance (health and auto) is also based on your credit score..... with other actions such as DUI, etc involved.Minny

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

I have a question...

At the time I filed back in Oct...I had an outstanding phone bill (land line). One of my friends had told me that it was always important to keep your phone bill paid for your credit rating (?...what's left of it?). Anyhow, I did not include it in my bankruptcy (forgot). It took them five months to actually turn it off and I wonder if I need to pay it or can I send them my bk papers? I'd love not to pay it but didn't want to do something stupid...I have a $200 Xray bill from August...same thing, that did not get included...???Filed Oct 2005discharged February 2007,Shapeless in the fire's glow, tell me if you think you know,

For the phone bill, if they turned it off after you filed, then part of those charges could be post BK. I don't remember if you've been discharged? If not, then add them...
Regarding the OP, any negative/collection items will have a negative effect on credit score. There is no way to predict how much, because everyone's file is different. Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

The phone got turned off after I filed (Oct 2005), probably in January...I was discharged on the 16th of Jan...and I think the phone was off by then...We only used the land line to call & order pay per view movies or for the computer...Filed Oct 2005discharged February 2007,Shapeless in the fire's glow, tell me if you think you know,

Since you're already discharged, might be better off to try to work something out with them for payment. You'd have to pay to petition to reopen your case, and only the balance at the time of filing (for the phone) could be included in the discharge. Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. I guess it all depends on the market...
We have a Blockbuster online membership, $15.00/mo (plus tax) and they send movies to us, up to 3 at a time. We also get 2 free rentals each month-most months don't even print them out though. Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. Our pay per view through direct tv is like 3.99/movie....cheaper than going to the movies with my mom...$5 to $7 depending on the theater...popcorn in Sarasota is $4.50 for a small....almost as much as the movie!Filed Oct 2005discharged February 2007,Shapeless in the fire's glow, tell me if you think you know,

I didn't know how much it costs until I found a ticket stub laying out. $8.95 to get into the movies!!
Back home, we'd go for $6 during matinee to save the extra buck of prime time.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
