    Power and Gas

When we file BK we included our gas and power companies. We are currently living with my parents so since we sold our house a over a year ago we have not had these utilities in our names. We included the local companies in our BK. Do they require a deposit? We are moving out in a month we are just trying to find out some info. These accounts were also in just my name not my wife's name. Thanks in advance!

If you are going to attempt to open a new account on a company that you previously filed against then yes, you will more than likely be required to put down a deposit.

I had to just put a deposit down for electric, because of the bad credit. I have always paid my utilities on time and none were included in BK. Too bad for me, it was $650! They charged 2 1/2 times average monthly bill for the house we are renting. That really sucked!
If you know where you will live, you can call and ask so you are prepared. You can even set up the date to turn it on.
