    Stop Automatic Mortgage Payments?

Not sure if this came up before (but for everyone lurking let's visit this again)

I have a Home Mortgage that is autopay out of my Checking Account.

I have asked my Credit Union to STOP the payments. They said they cannot until I get the Lender (Dovenmule sp? ) to stop withdrawling....(like that will happen)

I did get them to stop this month as I told them I am changing banks, which I am.

    I joined another Credit Union.

How do I move my Car Loan and NOT my Mortgage loan withdrawls? This has been a nightmare to stop....it just keeps going and going.....

    thanks!

I needed to stop automatic mortgage payments with my credit union, so I called my lender and told them I changed my mind about auto-pays and wanted it stopped. I followed up with a letter. It worked for me. Good luck!

I just called our mortgage lenders (Wells Fargo and BoA) that I was changing banks and to stop the auto withdrawals. It was as simple as that for us.

I got the same line from my Credit Union about automatic deposit. My employer made a mistake once, and withdrew from my account a deposit they should not have made. The credit union said they could not stop it, and it was up to the entity I authorized to be able to withdraw from my account to stop it.

That is, of course, ridiculous, and contrary to common sense. I have since stopped doing business with that credit union.

          What a country.
