The adjustment is based on census figures for median income. In some states the median income went up. I think for the first few years after the means test was introduced, the median income went up across the board.
There are two secrets for success in life:
1.) Never tell everything you know.
This effects me, too. I was planning on filing the first week of November. Live in the state of California. The new tables show the median income for a family of 3 in California has dropped a little over $3000. Since I was "just over median" this hugely effects when I should/will file. Otherwise, I'm gonna' be pushed into a 13.
I hear ya! We were going to be under about $2500 -- now it looks like we'll be over about $1500. I'm frustrated too. It's possible my husband may need surgery in the next month - have to wait for a couple of weeks to see how he's healing. If he does, we'll be fine, as his income will drop substantially. If not, I'm hoping we can still do it based on our expenses. Sad that we're wishing for surgery.
