Entertainment Question

Oh I hope I didn't do something stupid!

Ok so since I live in FL we have always had annual passes to the theme parks (Universal and Seaworld). I usually pay monthly for them (45 Universal and 45 Seaworld). Well since money was tight we couldn't go as offen as we liked so I let the Universal cards expire but put our Seaworld ones on hold. Well this weekend the kids were begging us to do something since we have been locked in the house due to finances and my daughter has beens sick. So without thinking I reactivated our Seaworld tickets. We now pay about $50 a month for 4 tickets. So we went Sat and spent about $70 there. I felt quilty spending the extra money but we had it. Bills were paid already and we literally have done nothing all summer.

I did it and didn't even realize that it might have an affect on my BK. I have to start learning to think of the BK before I do something.

Is this going to cause a problem??

did you pay cash for them??? or put them on a cc or debit card???

1. Please tell me you did not put them on a cc.
2. Even if you used a debit card instead of cash, the total amount, per your numbers, was 120. You'll be ok.
3. And even if you did put them on a cc....it was an honest error. What are they gonna do, AP you for 120????

I used my check card/debit card. I don't have any open credit cards to use...lol

How would this work for eating out also? We usually eat out once a week.

How would it work? Well, you do have a recreational budget....even in BK...lol. No, our attorney basically told us to not stop living, continue eating out (moderately) like we have been, about once a wekk in mid-range places (think Chili's price range), and to use debit card, not to try to hide anything. Basically, he told us to continue living.

really freddy, i thought it will alright. we begin to feel guilty about everything!!

truth is we never ever went out to eat other than pizza or take out cash....we haven't even gone to the movies in over 3 years. you couldn't find a luxury or entertainment charge on either our debit or card cards if you looked at every statement for at least 3 years....i think more at this point!

i don't think they will care if you took your kids out unless you spend like 10k on them. LOL!

Don't feel guilty. You do have to live. And you have an 'entertainment' line in your budget. As long as you can pay cash, or with the debit card, you will be fine. Just keep everything within a 'reasonable' limit.

Just bought tickets for an event as part of our kids bday in Oct. I too felt a pang of guilt that I am spending money on fun when I am planning to file bk, but how can we ignore our kids? I'm looking forward to taking them! Thanks for posting this. The replies make me feel better too. I hope you had a little fun yourself. ;)

well..actually i said previously we did not even go out for dinner....but i never mentioned the KIDS...and the grandkids...i guess that's why we didn't go out even when there was a bit extra because we would give it to our kids for our grandchildren....which we wanted forever a day for them and now have 3 in 2 years.

Well I guess I don't feel too guilty about it afterall because the kids asked if we could go again next week since the tickets are paid for already and I said yes....lol This time I will pack a lunch instead of spending bigs bucks eating there.

frankly freddie...(sounds kinda funny)....i couldn't WAIT to leave near micky....however, he's been so far off my mind, i might as well still be 1700 miles away from him.

we haven't even been NEAR any fun...and as a matter of fact fore went some recently for some house repairs....WHAT is the matter with me????

It's really hard living near Micky and have young kids. They don't understand just how expensive it is. That's why I like Seaworld b/c you can pay monthly payments and they don't charge any additional fees. 3 parks for all four of us is less than $50 a month. So if we visit the parks only twice a year it pays for itself

i know you're right...i went to lombardi's in winter park and brought some fresh fish for dinner!!!.......and winn dixie had grey goose on "special"!! so i'm hoping to have a little fun.

can you tell me where the HECK to eat down here??? i'm dying from the frying stuff..LOL!! how about pizza??? freddy PLEASE tell me where to get pizza!!!!!!....i never much cared for pizza until i couldn't have it anymore.
