    Including Verizon Wireless as creditor???

We had a large past due balance ($300) that we including in our Ch. 7 BK. Anyone else include their Verizon (or any other carrier) bill in their filing and if so, what happened to your service? We'd like to keep ours but will the ch. 7 null and void the existing contract?

We were not behind with our Verizon service, but as per what our district requires we had to list them on our papers just for notification that we were filing. Some people are not required to list - and some are. Our service was not affected however our account number was changed to a sub-account, so instead of it ending with a 01 - they changed it to a 02. We had to re-register online, etc as the "old" account closed down, however all numbers stayed the same.

With that being said - Verizon can do as they wish when it comes to BK filings, whether you actually file against them or not, apparently - but according to our lawyer - if we were behind in payments and included them as a creditor, then Verizon would more than likely discontinue service.

If you set up new service with someone else should you just list them? Anyone ever able to get service with a cell phone company after filing on them and being discharged?
