Like so many of you, I never thought I would be a filing a first time, but life happens. All you can do is the best you can. Hopefully I will learn to be in a better position to avoid this from happening again, but who knows. I may need to borrow your name neverlearn! ;^)

it's our first!!! i have certainly learned about the concept of throwing a child in the river to see if was able to swim....shoot...we almost drowned ourselves drowning!!!

I was so embarrassed when we went back to the attorney that handled our first BK. He was understanding and all, and that just made it worse.

He's a good attorney, I can't fault anything he did for us. And he's doing to the best to help us this go around.

:lol: No, didn't do that. We actually sold our TV. Only reason we have 'net and a comp right now is cause they're through the wife's work. She gets canned, out the door they go.

really...seriously...we sold our clothes, our furniture, our tv's and slept on a used air bed...i'm not looking for an "OMG"...but we did what we had to do.(really you don't even want to know it all).

i know i have a tendency to use humor...or attempt anyway, but i can't stop and really look at just how sad this was for us and for so many...

I've had collectors tell my wife to put the kids up for adoption, I've been told to sell drugs and blood, one told my wife to go prostitute herself.

Yet, I'm the one losing sleep at night and feeling like shit for doing this a 2nd time. I know these a-holes don't lose any sleep. And it kicks me in the gut that I feel embarrassed and bad for this. On a intellectual level I know I shouldn't, it's a survival decision; but I still do.

Caught 'em on tape, filed complaints (part of what ye'old attorney's working on). My kids are young enough that I figure my wife's 2nd husband can pay for college...you know the rich doctor she's threatening to marry after I have a heart-attack yelling over the phone at the bill collector.

WOW! That is taking things a bit far. I have joked about some of those to my husband but I cannot IMAGINE a complete stranger saying that to me over the phone. I hope you told them where and in what way to go. SICK!

This will be my first time....but my best friend has filed Chapter 7 THREE times prior. She doesn't post here - let's just say her choices for husbands leave a lot to be desired - she's trying to get rid of her 4th one right now, but can't afford a divorce lawyer yet.

She told me at her third 341 meeting, the trustee yelled at her and had her in tears. That has me worried when I go for my meeting, but it will be my first time for BK.
