Should I buy a car now?

We havn't filed yet and are probably going to wait til our home mod goes through before we do. We are planning on giving up our car that we still owe 20k on since it is only worth about 12k. We are going to need a car so do I try to get one now or wait til we file?

I imagine that even though my credit has taken some hits recently, it is better now then it will be after the bk. Has anyone done this? Is it impossible to get a loan on a car after bk?

This is what my lawyer told me: the first 2 years after discharge, you'll have a lot of offers from the credit card companies, but watch out for those because they are predatory lending with high interest rates and a lot of fees, and the most important thing is watch for your financial health. She's right. Even right now when only after a month of filing, I already got two offers from two different car dealerships. Can't they just wait until after my case is closed?
