    new bank after filing

    hello
Ive been on this site for a few months, great information thank you!
we will be filing 7 soon I was hoping in the next 2 weeks or so, but with what just happened today im not sure

our main checking acc is wells fargo
which we have many loans with, so we opened a new bank account with citibank about 6 weeks ago, as we do not owe them anything

all was well until today we got a notice from citibank saying they were closing our accounts because of a chex system report apparently our wells account was overdrawn
so now were out of a bank , we have brought the overdrawn account back to a zero
but have to wait 30 days for it to be cleared on chex system
should i wait the 30 days and then open a new citibank acc
and then file or should i just file now
how hard is it to open a new basic account after filing?

    #2
I don't know how hard it is to get a new checking account after filing but would presume not, especially since most banks offer "fresh start" checking for people with Chex System reports.

If I were you, I would be opening a new account now so you have time to redirect any direct deposits etc prior to your filing. Look into another bank, if possible, and opt for one of the fresh start accounts tomorrow.

    Good luck
