Question I Have $20K In Debt, Make $30K/Yr. Own A Home. What Would You Do?

What had started out as a long post here about feeling overwhelmed and alone about my pending BK has made me start questioning if I am doing the right thing. My 341 meeting for my Ch. 7 is 7/23. Here is what my situation is:

    Self-Employed - Gross $30K, Net $22K (I think)
    Homeowner with almost no equity
    Cannot afford health insurance
    Mortgage that I'm keeping
    Car loan that I'm keeping
    $20K in CC debt
    Less than $1K medical bills

What would you do in my situation? Is it too late either way?
    341 Meeting: 7/23/10, Chapter 7
After: Attempt "Offer In Compromise" for backtaxes
    Then: Try for mortgage remodification

You've already filed for Chapter 7, so what exactly is the question?

Like what frogger stated, the ball is rolling so you are on a coaster that you are not in control of. Of course this is an uncomfortable feeling to be in, but when you are finished it will be a liberating feeling.

Typically if your debt exceeds 50% or more of your annual income then filing is not out of line. Just do your best to make sure you don’t end up in the same boat in the future. Hope that helped.

Yes, angles, that helps a lot! I had a bit of a panic this weekend and needed some reassurance. Thank you.
